Remember that Study about Jews' IQs? Yeah, Not So Much.

I'm so glad that the Bronfmans are paying for American teens to visit Israel. So lovely to have these moronic scum out there representing us.

Wonder if they would be quite so idiotic if they were filmed when sober? Then again, the ability to recall the identity/position of Netanyahu shouldn't disappear with a little alcohol.

That said, I dislike the tendency to ascribe characteristics (stupidity or high IQ) to entire groups of people, Jews or otherwise. Not all Jews are responsible for Israel's policies or the bad behaviors of this group. The idea that all Jews have high IQs (and thus are shrewd) leads to dangerous conspiracy theories. We don't need to broadbrush the ignorance of a few to counter that argument.

What a bunch of drunk numb-nuts. They sound exactly like my supposedly-Christian cousins in southern Missouri. I guess hate-mongers and idiots are the same everywhere.

I haven't watched this and I'm not going to. I don't think it helps anybody to pay attention to a society's most prejudiced, intolerant members. I know that the filmmakers think they are portraying a general trend across Israeli society, and frankly, I don't doubt that many Israelis hold beliefs about Arabs I would find abhorrent. BUT. This film doesn't strike me as useful.

Unless it reminds everybody to pay attention to what they're teaching their children.

If you got a bunch of Lebanese college kids drunk and filmed them spouting off about other sects, countries and races, I am sure you'd get equally awful footage. And yes, Lebanon has a problem with endemic racism and sectarianism. But I would not spend time watching a film documenting this. With my children or with any human relationship problem, I find that focusing on solutions and positive outcomes works better than focusing on problems and negative behavior.
