Love & Other Impossible Pursuits Premiere!

Here are some photos of me at the premiere of the film at the Toronto Film Festival. I can honestly say that standing up in front of over 1000 people, most of whom were still drying their eyes, was one of the highlights of my life. This movie is GOOD, people. Really good. Excellent. Amazing performances by Natalie Portman, Lisa Kudrow, Scott Cohen and more. The young actor who plays William, Charlie Tahan, is awesome. Don Roos rocks my world.

There's a photo here, another one here, and another one here.

And here are Natalie Portman and Lisa Kudrow looking drop dead gorgeous.

I only just learned about this film from the dustjacket of Bad Mother! It sounds fantastic! Any chance of it showing some time soon down here in the Bay Area?

You all look so happy; I'm extrapolating the audience reaction from that, and can't wait for the opportunity to be an audience member at this film!

i also just discovered you, in a deeper sense.

i live in Israel and i vaguely remembered all the uproar that you caused with your statement about loving your husband more than your kids.

well... let me tell you this:

my one and only son (eldest of 5 kids) was in a motorcycle accident about 8 years ago.

this was about 2 years after my nice divorce from their father. we really were, and are, great friends to this day.

however, on my way to the ER at Tel HaShomer Hospital in the Tel Aviv area, my ex called me to ask of any update.

i screamed into the phone "why aren't YOU on that bed in the ER?"

yes, i still loved my ex-husband, but my son was much, much, MUCH more important to me at that moment in time, than anyone or anything else in the world.

don't ever say anything like that outloud again... as the Chinese put it so well "be careful what you wish for".

oh, i too am Bi-Polar, the 5th generation. i'm 50 years old, the proud mother of 5 kids and will always love them more than anyone or anything else in the world.

I don't know how I missed knowing that your book had been made into a movie. I am a fan. Bought Love and Other Impossible Pursuits in hardcover even. Loved Daughter's Keeper and I read one of the mommy mysteries and have another one in the car for when I need to wait in line. Today, as I painted my front door, I listened to your husband's manly essays on audio book (chuckled over the man purse one). Why aren't any of your books on audio? Reading a book and then listening to it on audio, especially when read by the author, is one of my favorite things to do.

Your pics show a confident, beautiful woman, wife, mother.

Thanks for posting these photos. I want to know when we're getting a release date for this sucker! I read in EW that it didn't get picked up at the film festival. Man! I've been waiting to see this.
